Vacation Part 5

August 8, Day 5

Thursday was a Lazy Day, mostly. We went back to Balboa Park, yes I got to to the Museum of Photographic Art! The photogrophers were Ansel Adams, Arthur Levine, Harry Callahan. There were some really cool photographs! I loved the work of Ansel Adams, he mostly photographed nature in Yosemite. The pictures were beautifull. Arthur Lavine took pictures of people and places in the city mostly, but something about them just stood out for me. [Harry Callahan was disturbed. I mean that in a bad way. It felt like looking ast pictures taken by a crazy stalker. He just took pictures of people on the street and of his wife, mostly naked. Yech, some photographer!] After going to the museum, we went to the gardens and shops on the other side.
We then went to Marshalls to get a gift for my mom's friend Julie. We each picked out a present for her, Dea took forever trying to find the right present. I wanted to go to the pool and swim but I forgot my bathing suit at home. [Dumb, huh?] I got a bikini there so I could go in. I can't believe it, I actually wore a bikini. :O Yep, it was wierd.

Vacation Part 4; extension

I feel I should explain my feelings on this touchy topic [Hold you horses all you animal activists and PETA people!] Okay, I love animals, [I totally would have adopted a ton from the pound *shudder* but my Mom will not allow it; she doesn't want an "animal" at home. I will continue my evergoing quest of convincing her to let me adopt one... ] but I am still not sure where I stand on the issue of animals performing and being in places for study. The tanks seem so small, how can the animals be comfortable? However, they are doing research, and it could help save the animals. Also, have you seen the connection between the animals and their traniers? Then again, making them perform? I try to look on both sides of the coin [Each side has it's spots] but, I just don't know. On the day I went to SeaWorld, I decided to forget thsi, and just enjoy the day.

Vacation Part 4

August 8, Day 4

It was Wednesday already, and guess where we went? SeaWorld! Dea, Mami, and I had so much fun!

I love manatees, they are awesome! I've always loved going to the manatee rescue at SeaWorld, I actually read the information [Unlike some people] and I think it's so sad. I mean, seriouslly, Why can't we take care of our Earth an of the others sharing it?

Vacation Part 3

August , Part 3

So Tuesday, we went to Balboa Park. It's not really a park, it has a lot of museums and gardens, it's a really nice place to spend the day. Tuesday was free admittance day to the Science Museum and Dea wanted to go there, so we did. I wanted to go to the Museum of Photographic Art, I haven't mentioned it in this blog, but I love Photography. Right now it's one the things I'm considering as a job, actually. Anyways the Science museum didn't really catch my attention, but Dea had fun.
One of the gardens at Balboa Park is Zorro Gardens. No it is not a garden with an Antonio Banderas statue [LOL :P], it's a Butterfly Garden! Planted in this garden are flowers that attract the butterflies [butterflys? butterflews?] and all these butterflies are fluttering around. I had barely entered the garden and a group of Monarch butterflies flew around me. I'm not one for bugs, even butterflies, btu it was soo cool.

[Dea at Zorro (Butterly) Garden]

After Balboa Park, we went to Old Town San Diego. Everything was so colorful, I loved it! We ate a Mexican Place [like I don't have that every day] at the Bazzar Del Mundo.

Vacation Part 2

August 6, Day Two

Monday was Beach Day! We went to Mission Beach, right at Belmont Park. It was really fun. We looked around the shops, got in the waves, looked in more shops, rode some rides, and watched a beautiful Sunset!

Vacation Part 1

I'm going to put a post for each day, mostly.

August 5, Day One
On Sunday, after going to Mass, we left for San Diego. You know what that means: Road Trip with a whiny little girl [Dea, my 5 yr old sister] whining and being whiny. Fun, fun, fun! Not! Okay, truthfully, it's not that bad, but she can get whiny. And anonying. And she bugs me. And I bug her back. [Hee-hee :P] We have one - count 'em, one - pit stop. Finally we arived at the hotel. It was a nice hotel, Paradise themed, but not too tacky. After we settled in, we went to the Fashion Valley Mall. It's this huge [at least it seemed pretty big to me] outdoor mall with an awesome food court. Unfortunatlly, since it was late already and most stores were closing so we went to eat. We ate at California Pizza Kitchen. Yum, Yum. :) Then, the shuttle was late, :/ and when it finally arived, there wasn't enough space, >:/ so we had to wait again >:(! Overall, it wasn't a bad start to my vacation. :)

I'm back

Hola ppls, I'm baaaaaack! [Eee, that sounds like one of those freaky tag lines you hear in the horror movie previews...] Well, anyway, I am back and yes, I do have a reason for not writing. Really. Mostly. Kinda. :} Here we go, I got a laptop! :D Yay!!! I had been asking my parents for one for a long time, then I decided I would just buy it myself. I had been saving already, but my parents said if I waited they would buy me one once I started high school. [Being partway through the begining of 8th grade already, I agreed.] So, surprise they actually kept their promise! [They actually do, every once in a blue moon...] Now I know it sounds like a lame excuse, but my laptop which supposedly has internet connection, will not connect! Argh! I didn't want to leave my poor little laptop all abondoned so I just played the games. [Did I ever mention that I suck at Solitare? I have a 20% winning average! >:(] So then, I went on vacation! To San Diego! And La Jolla! And how the hey was I supposed to get a computer [my parents didn't want me to take my laptop, but I didn't really care since it doesn't have internet anyway] with internet over there? I'll have to make seperate blogs to tell all about my vacation, becuase I have a lot to write.
